Meta Wins Antitrust Lawsuit Over Instagram, WhatsApp Deals

American federal judge James Boasberg put a decisive end to the US Federal Trade Commission's (FTC) antitrust lawsuit against the tech giant Meta.

In his 89-page ruling, the judge stated that Meta did not violate antitrust legislation by acquiring Instagram and WhatsApp.

The court found that the social media market remains competitive, thanks to players such as TikTok, YouTube, and newly established companies.

This decision is a huge victory for Meta, which has a capitalization of $1.51 trillion, and at the same time, a painful failure for US antitrust regulators, who were trying to establish control over Big Tech companies.
