A headless statue, a sphinx, as well as a statue in the likeness of an unknown priest. Archaeologists and divers have brought ashore 2000-year-old sunken ancient items found on the bottom of the Mediterranean Sea: statues, Roman coins, and other archaeological artifacts.
The operation was carried out on the Egyptian coast of the Mediterranean, in the coastal area of Alexandria. Experts claim the site, which is located in a bay, could be a continuation of the ancient city of Canopus, a prominent center of the Ptolemaic dynasty and the Roman Empire.
