Medieval Conti Tower Collapses in Rome, Injuring Four

In the center of Rome, near the Colosseum, a part of the medieval Conti Tower has collapsed. Four people were pulled from the rubble. One of them, a 64-year-old worker involved in renovation work, is in serious condition due to a head injury and has been hospitalized. The other three workers were brought out of the building by firefighters and did not sustain serious injuries.
As a reminder, the Conti Tower partially collapsed in the center of Rome today. It was built in 1203 by order of Pope Innocent III and the Counts of Segni as a residential and defensive structure on the site of the Roman Temple of Peace.
