Disability and maternity benefits: without an application

From September, temporary disability and maternity benefits will be assigned, calculated, and paid by the Unified Social Service; the citizen will not need to submit any application or document. The Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs informs about this.

"According to the regulations in place until now, for the assignment, calculation, and payment of temporary disability or maternity benefits, the employee submitted the temporary disability certificate to the employer, based on which the latter calculated, assigned, and paid the benefit at its own expense... With the new system, from September, the Unified Social Service will assign and calculate the benefits based on data automatically received from the electronic healthcare system regarding disability and from the information system managed by the tax authority regarding income. ... From September, disability certificates will no longer be used; they will be issued to citizens only in exceptional cases (for example, for submission to the authorized body of a foreign state)," the message reads.
