The mass human rights violations that occurred during and after the 44-day war in Karabakh have left a deep mark on the fates of thousands of people. The Human Rights Defender of the Republic of Armenia, Anahit Manasyan, wrote about this on her Facebook page.
"The mass human rights violations that occurred during and after the 44-day military operations have left a deep mark on the fates of thousands of people. The Human Rights Defender of Armenia reaffirms her commitment to consistently protect the rights of individuals and families affected by the war with all the tools of her mandate, with the important goal of guaranteeing the supremacy of human rights, a dignified life, and a peaceful and secure future," Manasyan wrote.
It should be recalled that according to data published by the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia in March 2022, 3822 military personnel and civilians were killed in Nagorno-Karabakh and the Republic of Armenia as a result of the aggressive war unleashed by Azerbaijan. According to the same data, as of March 21, 2022, the whereabouts of 187 servicemen and 21 civilians were unknown.
