Mark Grigoryan to Be Named Honorary Citizen of Yerevan

Journalist, educator, public and cultural figure Mark Grigoryan will be awarded the title of "Honorary Citizen of Yerevan." The corresponding draft decision was presented at the Yerevan Council of Elders session on October 23.
Mark Grigoryan was born in Yerevan and holds a PhD in philological sciences. He began his career in journalism in 1993, working as the deputy editor of the "Svoboda" newspaper, and later in London for the BBC Russian Service. He dedicated a significant part of his activities to Yerevan. From 2015-2017, he authored and hosted the "Unfamiliar Yerevan" TV show, where he presented the history of the capital's development, its significant buildings, and their architects.
From 2017-2018, he headed the Public Radio of Armenia, and from 2019-2024, the National Museum-Institute of Architecture. As the grandson of architect Mark Grigoryan, he has authored works and articles addressing the problems and prospects of Yerevan's architecture.
