Man Stabbed in Abovyan, Suspect Sought

On October 11, a stabbing occurred in the Kotayk region. Around 23:20, the Kotayk Regional Criminal Department of the Police Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the RA and the Kotayk Division of the Community Police Main Directorate of the Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the RA received routine operational information that a citizen had been transported to the "Abovyan" medical center in a stabbed condition. The doctors informed the criminal and community police officers that the injured person was brought to them with a diagnosis of a "penetrating stab wound to the anterior abdominal wall," is in the operating room, and is unable to give an explanation. While the doctors were fighting for his life, the officers of the Kotayk Police Division and the Kotayk region's criminal police found out that the injured person is Arshak M., a 51-year-old resident of the Kotayk region.

The law enforcement officers also found out that on the same day, around 23:00, in the yard of building 3 in the Chapichi district of Abovyan city, Samvel H., a 36-year-old resident of the Kotayk region, had an argument with Arshak M. over baseless issues, during which he struck Arshak M. with a sharp-edged, piercing object he had with him. Regarding the incident, documents have been prepared at the Kotayk Police Division, which have been transferred to the Abovyan Investigative Division of the Kotayk Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee, where criminal proceedings have been initiated in connection with the incident. The criminal and community police are taking necessary measures to find the suspect who committed the crime and the object used as the instrument of the crime.
