Man of Turkish Origin to Head German Domestic Intelligence

For the first time in Germany's history, an immigrant will head a security agency. Minister of the Interior Alexander Dobrindt has appointed the 53-year-old Istanbul-born Sinan Selen as the head of the Federal Office for Domestic Intelligence. Selen is a lawyer by education. Since 2019, he has held the position of deputy head of the office.

The German public is surprised: for the first time in the country's history, an immigrant has been appointed to lead the main body responsible for internal security.

It is recalled that recently, topics related to migrants have become quite acute throughout Europe. In Germany, these issues are mainly due to the large number of immigrants of Turkish nationality.
