Major Solar Flare Erupts; Strong Magnetic Storm to Hit Earth

The largest flare in the last two months has been recorded on the Sun. It has been classified as a fourth-category flare according to the modern five-point system. The first effects of the plasma ejections may affect the Earth as early as the evening of August 25, with the main impact expected in the second half of August 26.
