Major Fire Breaks Out at Nubarashen Landfill

On October 9, at 23:53, the National Crisis Management Center received an alarm that a fire had broken out at the Nubarashen municipal landfill in Yerevan. This is reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Six fire-rescue combat crews from the Yerevan City Rescue Department of the MIA Rescue Service went to the scene; 27 rescuers are working on site.

The huge column of smoke is visible from several tens of kilometers away. Almost all the water trucks of the "Yerevan Garbage Collection and Sanitary Cleaning" community institution have been working, and firefighter-rescuers have also joined. Most of the fire has been extinguished; only the visible smoke remains.

At this moment, firefighting efforts are ongoing.
