Main Bridge Damaged in Kapan, Armenia; Traffic Closed

On September 25, at 03:38, the crisis management center of the Syunik regional rescue department received an alarm that the main bridge over the Vachagan River on Garegin Nzhdeh Street in the city of Kapan was damaged, and the help of rescuers was needed. This was reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

A fire and rescue squad from the regional rescue department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs was dispatched to the scene. It turned out that a section of the main bridge over the Vachagan River near Garegin Nzhdeh Square was damaged; there are no casualties.

Rescuers cordoned off the area.

The bridge is closed to traffic in both directions.

A watch has been established by the patrol service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs police.
