Macron Vows to Stay, Blames Opposition for "Disorder"

French President Emmanuel Macron, while in Egypt to participate in the Gaza peace summit, made a statement announcing his intention to continue his term in office. According to him, the goal is to ensure stability in the country. Thus, he not only ignored the continuous calls for his resignation from the opposition but also directly accused them of the "disorderly situation" in the country.
In a conversation with journalists, Macron emphasized the very essence of his mandate, viewing it as a commitment to the French people. "Never forget that the mandate given by the French people is to serve, serve, and serve, and to provide answers to the daily questions of ordinary French people, as well as to do everything for the independence of France," he declared.
However, this time Macron did not limit himself to just reaffirming his mission. He went on the counter-attack, addressing the internal political crisis, one of the manifestations of which was the resignation of Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu. According to the French President, the political forces that played a role in the prime minister's resignation "bear full responsibility for this disorder." With this statement, he clearly shows that he considers the cause of the crisis not to be his or his government's policy, but the actions of the opposition.
Macron drew a clear distinction between his and the government's functions, taking upon himself the role of the guarantor of the state's stability. "This is the only thing that matters. The rest is the government's business... I will continue to ensure stability," added Macron, whose second and final presidential term expires in 2027.
Thus, while at a summit of international importance, the French President is sending a clear message to both his domestic political opponents and French society. He is showing that despite internal pressure, he does not intend to give in and considers it his duty to fulfill the mission for which he was elected until the end of his term, focusing on ensuring the country's long-term interests and stability.
