Lithuania, Estonia Confirm US Military Aid Cuts

Lithuania and Estonia have confirmed the reduction of US military aid. The amount is several hundred million euros, reports Der Spiegel.
The Pentagon has informed the two Baltic states that Washington will "zero out the funding for the so-called 333 program, which concerns the purchase of American military equipment," confirmed Vaidotas Urbelis, a high-ranking representative of the Lithuanian Ministry of Defense.
Urbelis stated that in Lithuania, the 333 program, which is nearing its end, has accounted for up to 80% of the total volume of military support for years.
However, the cuts will not affect the presence of American troops in the region, which are funded from other budget articles. According to the employee of the Lithuanian Ministry of Defense, the cuts will affect not only the Baltic countries, but also Eastern Europe, in fact, all countries bordering Russia.
White House sources have confirmed that these actions "have been discussed with European countries" and are in line with the decree signed by Trump on the redistribution of American aid to foreign states.
