Ten Tourists Go Missing on Russia's Kuril Islands

A tourist group of 10 people has not made contact in the area of the Baransky volcano on the Kuril Islands. This was reported by the Kurilsk urban okrug of the Sakhalin region. According to the source, rescuers, employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and a representative of the okrug administration have been involved in the search operations.

"Unfortunately, difficult weather conditions—low cloud cover, drizzling rain, and thick fog—are seriously complicating the implementation of the search operations," explained the head of the Kurilsk urban okrug.
