Mother-in-Law of Ruling Party MP Arrested in Gyumri

One of the arrested employees of the Gyumri municipality is the mother-in-law of Karen Sarukhanyan, a member of the "Civil Contract" faction in the National Assembly. Sputnik Armenia reports this.

"Yes, it is about my mother-in-law, who was a municipality employee for many years, even before Vardan Ghukasyan, and is the temporary acting leading specialist of the education department," Karen Sarukhanyan confirmed in a conversation with News.am. To the question of whether he is going to mediate or use his governmental levers to have her released, the deputy replied: "Absolutely not, I trust our law enforcement system and will accept the decision that the law enforcement bodies will make."

As a reminder, on October 20, a scuffle was recorded in Gyumri between a group of citizens, municipality employees, and representatives of law enforcement agencies. The latter had arrived in Gyumri to arrest some municipality officials, including the head of the community, Vardan Ghukasyan.
