Khudatyan: No "Zangezur Corridor" Will Operate in Armenia

Armenia's Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, Davit Khudatyan, has responded to the statement by the Turkish Minister of Transport and Infrastructure that the so-called "Zangezur corridor" will strengthen economic cooperation between Turkey, Armenia, and Azerbaijan. Khudatyan addressed the topic in response to a question from "Armenpress," specifically commenting on his Turkish counterpart's statement.
"Only such infrastructure projects that are proposed, accepted, or approved by the Government of the Republic of Armenia can operate and be implemented in the territory of the RA. Such are, for example, the 'North-South,' 'Crossroads of Peace,' and TRIPP programs.
No infrastructure with any name that does not meet the specified standard will operate in the territory of the RA. As for economic cooperation between Turkey, Armenia, and Azerbaijan, the RA is ready and interested in it. The transport component of the cooperation is expressed precisely in the 'Crossroads of Peace' project, from which the TRIPP—'Trump Road for International Peace and Prosperity'—program also derives.
We are actively preparing for the start of the implementation of this program and the opening of transport communications with Azerbaijan, in accordance with the Declaration adopted in Washington on August 8, which was signed by the Prime Minister of Armenia, the President of Azerbaijan, and the President of the USA," noted Khudatyan, recalling that Yerevan has publicly expressed its readiness to also reopen the Gyumri-Kars railway link between Armenia and Turkey, which would further strengthen regional interconnectedness.
