US Envoy: Ukraine Can Strike Deep Inside Russia

US President's Special Representative Keith Kellogg said in an interview with Fox News that Russia is not winning the war against Ukraine and that the US position has changed to allow Ukraine to conduct long-range strikes on deep targets in Russia. In this context, he confirmed that President Zelenskyy has asked President Trump for Tomahawk cruise missiles.
According to Kellogg, the war, which essentially began in 2014 under Obama and escalated in 2022 under Biden, is "not Trump's war." He said Trump inherited this conflict and is doing everything to bring it to an end by negotiating with the parties and allies.
Presenting intelligence data, Kellogg insisted: "Russia is not winning this war. If they were winning, they would be in Kyiv, in Odesa, they would have crossed the Dnipro." Instead, according to him, Russia got an expansion of NATO: Finland doubled the length of the border that Russia has to defend, and Sweden, a technologically advanced country, joined the alliance.
Kellogg also stressed the seriousness of the conflict, calling it the largest war in Europe since World War II, with the death toll already exceeding one million. He expressed his concern about the risk of a large-scale escalation due to a possible mistake, such as drone strikes on Poland or aircraft flights over Estonia.
In response to the journalist's clarifying question as to whether Ukraine already has the president's permission to conduct long-range strikes on Russian territory, Kellogg answered in the affirmative. He noted that if you pay close attention to the statements of President Trump, Vice President Vance, and Secretary of State Rubio, then the answer is "yes."
As evidence of this policy change, he mentioned President Zelenskyy's request for Tomahawk cruise missiles, which are capable of deep strikes. Kellogg confirmed that the request was made, but the final decision has not yet been made and depends on the president.
