Kars-Iğdır Railway Groundbreaking Set for August 22

The groundbreaking ceremony for the Kars-Iğdır-Aralık-Dilucu railway will take place on August 22. As reported by TurkicWorld, this was announced by the Minister of Transport and Infrastructure of Turkey, Abdulkadir Uraloğlu.
He said that this line will become an important part of the so-called "Zangezur corridor," which will provide a connection between Azerbaijan and the Nakhichevan Autonomous Republic. The minister informed that the length of the Kars-Iğdır-Aralık-Dilucu railway will be 224 kilometers, and the line's capacity will be 5.5 million passengers and 15 million tons of cargo annually.
According to him, the launch of the railway will strengthen economic cooperation in the South Caucasus, and the East-West line stretching from Beijing to London will operate more effectively.
