Kapan Named CIS Youth Capital for 2026

By the decision of the Council of Heads of State of the CIS, the city of Kapan in the Syunik province of the Republic of Armenia has been recognized as the Youth Capital for 2026. This is reported by the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports. According to the regulations of the "CIS Youth Capital" international program, large-scale projects are planned to be implemented in Kapan in 2026. Specifically:
  • Opening of the "CIS Youth Capital" program,
  • CIS Youth Forum,
  • CIS youth camps, training courses, round tables,
  • Presentation of Kapan city's opportunities for youth-oriented programs,
  • Meeting of the CIS Council for Youth Affairs,
  • Closing of the "CIS Youth Capital" program.
The Ministry has decided to combine the financial and human resources allocated for the "CIS Youth Capital 2026" program and the Youth Capital of Armenia 2026 program. In both cases, the target audience of the programs and the venue for the planned events will be Kapan.
