An orange aviation code has been declared in Kamchatka due to the eruption of the Klyuchevskaya Sopka volcano, posing a threat to local and international air traffic.
The Klyuchevskaya Sopka volcano has spewed an ash cloud reaching a height of 8 km. This is the third ash emission on August 4, reports "RIA Novosti," citing the Institute of Volcanology and Seismology of the Far Eastern Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The ash cloud has spread 110 km east-southeast from the volcano. The activity of the deposit is dangerous for local and international air traffic.
Previous ash emissions reached heights of 6.5 km and 7 km.
Earlier, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Kamchatka Krai reported that the Krasheninnikov, Shiveluch, Bezymianny, and Karymsky volcanoes are also active.
It is recalled that on July 30, the most powerful earthquake in Kamchatka since 1952 occurred.
