Trump to Seek Zelenskyy's Resignation: Japanese Media

The Japanese magazine Shukan Gendai writes that US President Trump may seek the resignation of Ukrainian leader Zelenskyy by the beginning of September.
"Many in Washington and Kyiv are of the opinion that the escalation of the war with Russia should be stopped as soon as possible, while there is still a chance to reconcile with Putin. This is the opinion of Trump, who considers Zelenskyy an obstacle on the path to a quick reconciliation and peace," the magazine notes, referring to American journalist Seymour Hersh's July 19 article, "The End of Zelenskyy? Washington Wants the Resignation of the President of Ukraine, But Will It Happen.
In addition, the article notes that the former Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Zaluzhnyi, is being considered as a likely successor to Zelenskyy.
"If Zelenskyy does not leave voluntarily, he could be forcibly removed," the publication emphasizes, adding that in September, against the backdrop of a possible meeting between Putin, Trump, and Xi Jinping in Beijing, significant changes could occur in the Ukrainian leadership.
