US President Donald Trump's visit to the Israeli parliament, the Knesset, was accompanied by unprecedented displays of gratitude and high praise. In honor of the White House, members of the Israeli Parliament wore caps resembling Trump's caps with the inscription "Trump - President of Peace." Israel's top leadership, represented by Knesset Speaker Amir Ohana and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, characterized Trump in their speeches as a key player in the establishment of world peace.
Knesset Speaker Amir Ohana, in his speech, announced that he intends to jointly initiate the nomination of Trump's candidacy for the Nobel Peace Prize with the Speaker of the US House of Representatives, Mike Johnson. "Together with the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mike Johnson, we will call on world leaders to nominate your candidacy for the Nobel Peace Prize next year. There is no one more deserving than you, President Trump," Ohana declared.
According to him, there is no other person in the world who has done more for the establishment of peace than Trump. "You have ended eight conflicts around the world in nine months," stressed the Knesset Speaker. He expressed his satisfaction with the US pressure on Hamas and separately thanked for the settlement of the situation in Gaza and for moving the US embassy to Jerusalem.
Ohana told Donald Trump that the US President can only be compared to Cyrus the Great.
During the discussions, Ohana also touched upon regional security threats, emphasizing that US-Israel cooperation is not limited to Gaza alone: "We cannot allow Iran to become a nuclear state."
