Israeli Army Seizes Chinese Cars From Officers
3 NOV 2025 12:04
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have begun confiscating Chinese-made service vehicles from its officer corps. According to Israeli media, this decision was made after security services discovered that there is a "serious risk of information leakage or espionage" through the built-in systems of these cars.
It is noted that some Chinese cars are equipped with cameras, microphones, and sensors that can transmit data to external servers, sometimes without the driver's control.
It is expected that a total of about 700 vehicles will be confiscated. The process will be phased: first, the cars will be taken from officers with access to classified information, and then, by the end of the first quarter of 2026, from all others.
This decision is seen as logical in the context that China is an ally of Iran and the Russian Federation. It is worth noting that earlier, the US and the UK had also restricted the use of Chinese technology in high-security zones.
It is noteworthy that, in contrast to the Israeli army's approach, Chinese-made electric cars are considered one of the undisputed hits among Ukrainian servicemen.
