Israel Strikes Refugee Camp in Lebanon, Killing 13

A deep chasm is observed between diplomatic efforts and military actions in the Middle East. On the one hand, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, at a meeting with US President Donald Trump in Washington, linked the normalization of relations with Israel to the creation of an independent Palestinian state. On the other hand, Israel, violating the ceasefire agreement, launched an airstrike on a Palestinian refugee camp in Lebanon, killing 13 people.
During the talks at the White House, Mohammed bin Salman stated that his kingdom wants to join the "Abraham Accords," but for that, a clear roadmap for resolving the conflict based on the "two-state" principle is necessary. "We want peace for the Israelis. We want peace for the Palestinians. We want them to coexist peacefully in the region," the Crown Prince noted.
However, hours after these diplomatic statements, the Lebanese Ministry of Health announced that Israeli forces had struck the Ain al-Hilweh Palestinian refugee camp near the city of Sidon. The strike killed at least 13 people, and there are many wounded. According to the Lebanese state news agency, a car, a mosque, and an adjacent center were targeted.
This deadly strike took place despite the ceasefire agreement reached between Israel and "Hezbollah" with US mediation on November 27, 2024. According to the Lebanese side, since the establishment of the ceasefire, more than 270 people, including 107 civilians, have been killed in Lebanon as a result of Israeli strikes.
