Israel Rejects Turkish Troops in Post-War Gaza Force

Israeli government representative Shosh Bedrossian has stated that Turkish soldiers will not be deployed in Gaza as part of the multinational force that is supposed to replace the Israel Defense Forces, reports the Times of Israel. "No Turkish foot will be on our land," press secretary Shosh Bedrossian told reporters.
US President Donald Trump's plan to end the two-year war envisions the creation of a temporary international stabilization force that will gradually take over ensuring security in Gaza.
The force has not yet been created, and many countries want to get a mandate from the UN Security Council. Responding to Israel's objections to the presence of Turkish troops in Gaza, US Ambassador to Turkey Tom Barrack stated at a security conference in Manama earlier this month that Turkey would participate.
US Vice President J.D. Vance said last month that Ankara would play a "constructive role," but Washington would not impose anything on Israel when it comes to foreign troops on its territory.
