Israeli Knesset Votes in Favor of West Bank Annexation
23 JUL 2025 16:17
The Israeli Knesset has voted in favor of the annexation of the West Bank of the Jordan River. The resolution, which states that these territories are an inseparable part of the historical, cultural, and spiritual homeland of the Jewish people, was adopted by a majority of 71 Knesset members' votes.
The West Bank of the Jordan River is one of the two parts of Palestine (the second part being the Gaza Strip). Israel captured these territories as a result of the 1967 Six-Day War. Currently, about 30% of the West Bank is controlled by the Palestinian Authority, and 60% by Israel.
