Almost half of Armenia's population, 49%, is confident the country is moving in the wrong direction. This is evidenced by the results of a poll conducted by the American International Republican Institute (IRI) from June 16 to 25.
The vast majority of respondents do not trust any political figure or party. Among political figures, Nikol Pashinyan has the highest rating at 13%. Compared to last year, his rating has decreased by three points. In second place is Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan with 5%, and third is Robert Kocharyan with 4%.
According to the poll, if elections were held next Sunday, only 17% of Armenian voters would vote for the Civil Contract party, compared to 20% in 2024. The "Hayastan" (Armenia) alliance is in second place with 4%, and another 2% of respondents mentioned Robert Kocharyan's name instead of any political force.
47% of respondents are fully or partially in favor of signing a peace treaty with Azerbaijan, while 40% are against it.
According to IRI, the countries with which Armenia has bad relations are Turkey, Israel, and Azerbaijan.
The vast majority of respondents, 89%, positively assess relations with France, 90% with India, and 85% with Iran. According to 55% of respondents, relations with Russia are bad.
