The Iranian news agency Mehr has published details from the meeting held in Tehran between Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and the Secretary of Armenia's Security Council, Armen Grigoryan. "The President stressed that Iran's concerns about the recent events in the Caucasus region, especially regarding the presence of foreign forces in this sensitive zone, have been greatly eased, taking into account the clarifications and assurances given by Armenian officials," the Iranian source emphasized.
The President also expressed satisfaction with the progress of the construction of the "North-South" corridor and Armenia's special attention to this project, calling it an important step in strengthening the economic and even political convergence of the member states of the Eurasian Union. "We must act in such a way that no foreign power can disrupt the friendly and strategic relations between the two countries," said the President of Iran.
The Secretary of Armenia's Security Council, emphasizing the strategic nature of Iranian-Armenian relations, stated that Yerevan is ready to sign a comprehensive document on strategic cooperation, which will define the long-term vision of these ties.
