Iran-E3 Nuclear Talks End Without Result, Axios Reports

27 AUG 2025 05:14
Axios reports that negotiations on Iran's nuclear program in Geneva have ended without result. At the meeting of representatives of Iran and the "Euro-troika" (France, Germany, Great Britain), according to sources, the Iranian side did not offer concrete steps to fulfill the demands.
These include the resumption of negotiations with the US, ensuring access for UN inspectors to the nuclear facilities damaged by Israeli attacks, and the stockpile of uranium enriched to 60% that remains in Iran.
According to Axios, without progress, the probability that European countries will trigger the "Snapback" mechanism significantly increases if the demands are not met by August 31.
As a reminder, Snapback is a legal mechanism that was part of the 2015 nuclear deal. It triggers UN Security Council sanctions against Iran in case of violation of the agreement.
