Iran at UN Warns of Terrorist Transfer from Syria

Iran's permanent representative to the UN, Iravani, expressed concern at a Security Council meeting regarding reports of the transfer of "terrorist elements" from Syria to Afghanistan.

He called it a direct threat to neighboring countries and regional stability. Iravani noted that the situation in Syria remains "extremely complex" and emphasized the need to lift unilateral sanctions, which exacerbate the humanitarian crisis and hinder the country's recovery.

The ambassador also called on all states to strictly adhere to international law in the fight against terrorism.
