Aliyev, EU Rep Discuss Armenia-Azerbaijan Peace Process

On August 28, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received the European Union Special Representative for the South Caucasus, Magdalena Grono.

Grono conveyed the greetings of the EU leadership and also congratulated Aliyev on behalf of the EU leadership and herself personally on the important results achieved in Washington regarding the normalization of relations with Armenia and the peace agenda. She emphasized that this process makes a great contribution to ensuring stable peace in the region.

The guest noted that the countries of the European Union support the establishment of peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia. In addition, Magdalena Grono announced the EU's readiness to support the implementation of issues agreed upon between the two countries, including the creation of a transport corridor.

During the conversation, an exchange of views also took place on the prospects for the development of relations between Azerbaijan and the European Union.
