IDF Begins Withdrawal from Gaza Strip Cities

Following the Israeli government's approval of the ceasefire and hostage release agreement with Hamas, units of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have begun a large-scale process of withdrawing from the Gaza Strip. This move, which followed intense diplomatic negotiations, effectively put into action the key provisions of the peace plan proposed by US President Donald Trump, paving the way for a long-awaited de-escalation of tensions in the region.
The redeployment of troops is taking place according to agreed-upon lines, which are clearly defined in the peace plan. This is not a chaotic retreat, but a meticulously planned military operation aimed at creating new security conditions and facilitating the implementation of further points of the agreement. Specifically, Israeli military units will withdraw from key and densely populated areas of the Gaza Strip, including Rafah, Khan Younis, and the northern regions. They will move east, taking up positions closer to the border with Israel.
The scale of the process is evidenced by the fact that, within the framework of the agreement, three divisions of the Israeli army will be completely withdrawn from Gaza City in the next 24 hours. This is a significant reduction in military presence, which should contribute to the formation of an atmosphere of trust and allow for the transition to the next phase of the agreements—the release of hostages and the provision of humanitarian aid, a number of experts believe.
