Iceland has welcomed the initialing of the Armenia-Azerbaijan agreement

Iceland has welcomed the initialing of the peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan in the US capital, Washington, on August 8. In a post on X, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iceland stated in particular:

"Iceland welcomes the important steps taken by Armenia and Azerbaijan aimed at ending the decades-long conflict. We express our appreciation to both countries and the United States for these historic efforts aimed at ensuring lasting peace and stability in the South Caucasus."
