Hungary Seeks to Form "Anti-Ukraine Alliance" within EU

Hungary is seeking to create an alliance with the Czech Republic and Slovakia within the European Union. This was stated by Balázs Orbán, the political adviser to Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán. According to Politico, Budapest wants to unite with Andrej Babiš, who recently won the elections in the Czech Republic, and Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico, to form an alliance of countries "skeptical of Ukraine" in the EU.

According to the publication, the creation of such an alliance could significantly complicate any decision-making by the European Union regarding the provision of assistance to Kyiv and negatively affect those efforts.
