Firefighters Extinguish Numerous Grass Fires Across Armenia

Between August 15 and 26, the crisis management centers of the regional rescue departments of the Rescue Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs received numerous alarms regarding fires that broke out in grassy areas. The Ministry of Internal Affairs informs about this.

In various provinces and settlements, the fires spread over significant areas, creating a serious threat to both the natural environment and adjacent settlements. Cases of fire were recorded in the cities of Aparan, Yeghvard, Gyumri, Vanadzor, Meghri, Berd, in the villages of Saralanj, Geghard, Alapars, Fantan, Sanahin, Agarakavan, Lchashen, Karchaghbyur, Aygedzor, Kamkhut, Argel, Lchavan, Haghtanak, as well as on the Kotayk-Kaputan, Chknagh-Ttujur highways and in the Hartashen-"Zanger" section.

Despite the difficult and sometimes complex landscape conditions, the firefighter-rescuers managed to isolate and completely extinguish the fire sources with operational and coordinated actions, preventing their further spread and possible disastrous consequences, the Ministry of Internal Affairs notes, once again urging everyone to strictly observe fire safety rules, be vigilant and avoid actions that could cause a fire.
