Hayastan Faction to Boycott Peace Declaration Session

The "Hayastan" faction has announced that it will not participate in the discussion of the draft statement submitted by the "Civil Contract" (CC). "Today, the CC has brought to the agenda of the extraordinary session of the National Assembly a draft statement, by which it proposes to highly appreciate the agreements reached with Azerbaijan in Washington, which, even if signed, according to the Vienna Convention on the Law of Treaties and the Constitution of the Republic of Armenia, must still undergo internal procedures, while ignoring this requirement, the CC continues its policy of seizing state institutions," the faction's statement reads.

Let us recall that on the initiative of the deputies of the National Assembly of Armenia, and by the decision of the NA President, an extraordinary session of the National Assembly will be convened immediately after the end of the regular sessions convened on September 30. On the agenda is the draft statement of the National Assembly "On the Establishment of Peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan," authored by the "Civil Contract" faction of the NA.
