Khaled Meshaal, a high-ranking Hamas representative in Qatar, has made a remarkable statement, noting that the Azerbaijani army could enter the Gaza Strip as a peacekeeping force. This is reported by Ednews.net, citing a conversation with Meshaal. According to the source, the Hamas representative stated that they trust the armies of Turkey and Azerbaijan to establish peace in Gaza. "We would like our brothers to stand by our side. Therefore, along with Turkey, the Azerbaijani army can also enter to ensure peace in Gaza. We view this positively," Meshaal said.
He stressed that Hamas has great respect for Azerbaijan and is grateful for its support to the Palestinian people. Meshaal recalled the Non-Aligned Movement summit held in Baku, during which the leader of Azerbaijan spoke in favor of the creation of a Palestinian state.
The Hamas official also touched upon the normalization of relations with Israel, noting that they are ready for negotiations if Israel stops what they define as "occupation and aggression." He emphasized that Hamas wants the international community to understand the essence of their struggle. "We do not want war, we want peace. But we also protect our lands, our people, and our rights," concluded Khaled Meshaal.
