Grossi: Attack on Zaporizhzhia NPP Was "Extremely Dangerous"

The direct attack on the external power supply line of the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant was extremely dangerous; something like this has never happened before. This was stated by IAEA head Rafael Grossi after a meeting with Rosatom director Alexey Likhachev in Kaliningrad.

According to Grossi, Russia and the IAEA jointly managed to overcome the "dangerous situation" at the nuclear power plant, and the agency confirmed its role in resolving the crisis this fall. He emphasized that in the entire history of the operation of nuclear power plants, there has never been a situation in the world like the one that has developed at the Zaporizhzhia NPP.

The head of the IAEA also noted that the restoration of the plant's power supply in conditions of military operations demonstrates the agency's important role in the nuclear sector. Turning to another topic, Grossi called the nuclear tests planned by the US an important issue that "cannot be ignored."
