Germany Not Yet Ready to Recognize Palestinian Statehood

Germany does not intend to recognize Palestinian statehood, despite the position of some of its partners. German Chancellor Friedrich Merz stated this at a press conference with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, reports TASS.

"We will not join this initiative. We believe that the conditions for recognition of statehood have in no way been met," Merz said, adding that the German authorities do not intend to recognize Palestine at the UN General Assembly session either.
