France Will Not Be Compensated for Uninsured Louvre Heist

France will not receive compensation for the precious items stolen from the Louvre and uninsured, reports The Financial Times.

According to the Ministry of Culture, when the exhibits are in the museum, the state itself acts as the insurer.

It is noted that it is practically impossible to insure the entire Louvre collection, as the value of masterpieces like the "Mona Lisa" is impossible to estimate.
