France Summons Italian Ambassador Over Salvini's Remarks

The Italian ambassador to France has been summoned to the French Foreign Ministry following "unacceptable statements" made by his country's Deputy Prime Minister, Matteo Salvini, about Emmanuel Macron, reports the France-Presse agency, citing its diplomatic source.
In recent days, during a visit to Milan, when asked about the possibility of sending Italian troops to Ukraine by the "Coalition of the Willing" led by Great Britain and France, Salvini replied that French President Emmanuel Macron "should go there himself," put on a helmet, and take up a weapon.
As a reminder, although Italy is a member of the "Coalition of the Willing," Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni has also hinted that Rome does not intend to send Italian soldiers to Ukraine.
