Four Killed in Madrid Building Collapse

Four people have died as a result of a building collapse in the center of Madrid. According to El Pais, rescuers discovered the bodies of two more construction workers on the evening of October 7. They were previously considered missing.

Earlier, the Mayor of Madrid, José Luis Martínez-Almeida, confirmed the deaths of two people working at the construction site.

"The sixth floor collapsed, which caused all the floors down to the first to collapse," he said. According to El Pais, the cause of the collapse is still unknown. The victims include three men and one woman.

It is reported that several dozen people were working at the construction site at the time of the tragedy. The building was set to become a four-star hotel.
