Forest Fire Continues in Chambarak, Armenia

On November 21, a fire that broke out in the Chambarak-Ttu jur section of Gegharkunik province spread on November 23 to the 1st, 2nd, and 4th sections of the Getik forestry of the "Chambarak Forestry" branch of the "Hayantar" SNCO of the Ministry of Environment, burning grass and trees. This was reported by the Eco-Patrol Service of the Ministry of Environment.

A large number of combat crews and a helicopter from the Rescue Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as well as employees of the Kotayk and Gegharkunik provincial departments of the Eco-Patrol Service of the Ministry of Environment, were involved in the firefighting efforts.

Due to the difficult terrain, firefighting in many sections was carried out with individual means. In some places, it was possible to stop the spread of the fire, but due to the dry and windy weather, it was not possible to completely extinguish the fire.

According to preliminary data, a part of the 1st, 2nd, and 4th sections of the Getik forestry has burned down, and the fire is continuing towards the 6th section of the Dprabak forestry.

Firefighting operations are ongoing.
