The prestigious American magazine Foreign Policy has published a major article dedicated to the negotiations between Yerevan and Baku and the normalization of relations in the South Caucasus. According to the magazine's assessment, the meeting that took place in Washington on August 8 became a breakthrough in the conflict.
The magazine emphasizes that the agreement has opened the way to unblocking regional trade and investment, as well as strengthening the status of the US as an important player in a region that has traditionally been under the influence of Russia, Turkey, and Iran.
Foreign Policy notes that the Donald Trump administration hopes that a full peace treaty will be signed and ratified by the end of 2026.
"This means the beginning of a new era in the South Caucasus," the magazine notes.
