The opening of a transit route to Armenia through the territory of Azerbaijan creates new and additional logistical opportunities for cargo transportation. This was stated by Sergey Pavlov, First Deputy General Director of "Russian Railways" OJSC, referring to the prospects for the restoration and development of railway communication.
According to the official, this initiative has already entered a practical phase. Pavlov informed that the first trial, test transportation was successfully carried out, which allowed to assess the viability of the route. In a conversation with Azerbaijani media, he emphasized that the results obtained are satisfactory and testify to the promising nature of the direction.
"The result showed that this route is one of the most effective options for shippers and customers," Sergey Pavlov noted. This implies that the new route can significantly improve the conditions of cargo transportation, offering the opportunity for optimization of time and resources for economic entities.
Currently, work is continuing on organizational and technical issues. The parties are actively working on clarifying the range of goods. In particular, it is being determined what specific types of goods can be transported on this route, including the three main components of commercial activity: export, import, and transit transportation.
