The Ministry of Internal Affairs has summarized the details related to the fire that broke out on Komitas Avenue and published all the information available at the moment. Accordingly, on November 6, at 11:08, the National Crisis Management Center received an alarm that a fire had broken out at one of the food establishments on Komitas Avenue in Yerevan.
Four combat crews and one ladder truck from the fire-rescue squads of the Yerevan City Rescue Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs' Rescue Service were dispatched to the scene under the "1 BIS" fire complexity call. Based on the complexity of the fire, a "Number 3 Call" fire complexity was declared on site. Ten more combat crews, one ladder truck from the fire-rescue squads of the Yerevan City Rescue Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs' Rescue Service, the on-duty officers of the fire suppression and rescue operations organization departments of the Yerevan Rescue Department and the Rescue Forces Department, the Psychological Support and Medical Provision Department, the operational groups of the National Crisis Management Center and the rescue groups of the Special Purpose Rescue Work Implementation Center of the Rescue Forces Department, and a gas and smoke protection service vehicle were dispatched to the scene.
Officers from the Community Police, the Patrol Service, and the Police Guard of the Ministry of Internal Affairs were also promptly involved in the firefighting operations.
According to preliminary data, one victim was hospitalized.
Firefighter-rescuers managed to prevent the fire from spreading to other parts of the building and to a gas station located in the adjacent area. The fire was contained at 13:09 and extinguished at 13:54.
The work at the scene was led by the Director of the Rescue Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs - Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Major General Kamo Tsutsulyan.
