Finland Prepares for Possible Russian Invasion, The Times Reports

Finland is actively preparing its armed forces to counter a possible invasion on its northern border with Russia. The British newspaper The Times writes about this.

According to the publication, Finnish border guards and about 150 conscripts are undergoing rigorous training, which includes exercises in severe cold conditions, rapid marches, helicopter jumps, and even overnight stays at -40°C.

The newspaper notes that in Finland, the border guard service is closely integrated with the army. In case of an emergency, heavy armaments and mine stockpiles become available to the border guards. In addition, the country has an impressive reserve of about 900,000 people, who are ready to be involved in the country's defense if necessary.
