Fifth Anniversary of the End of the 44-Day War
9 NOV 2025 07:36
November 9 marks the fifth anniversary of the signing of the trilateral statement that ended the 44-day war. To remember that day and honor the memory of the war victims, "a flow of people to the 'Yerablur' military pantheon has begun since early this morning."
Five years ago, on September 27, 2020, the armed forces of Azerbaijan launched large-scale offensive operations in the direction of the Republic of Artsakh. The bloody hostilities, which lasted for 44 days, encompassed many cities and settlements in Artsakh, which were subjected to heavy shelling and drone strikes.
During the war, thousands of servicemen were killed, and there were also casualties among the civilian population. The most fierce and intense clashes took place in October and November, especially in the directions of Shushi and Hadrut.
The war was stopped on November 9, 2020, with a trilateral statement signed between the leaders of Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Russia, which established a ceasefire regime and new lines of troop deployment. Today, citizens are visiting Yerablur to pay their respects to the memory of the heroes who sacrificed their lives for the homeland.
