Kamaz Truck Hits and Kills 13-Year-Old in Aragatsotn

Today, November 21, a fatal collision occurred in the Aragatsotn region. Around 4:30 PM, on Israelyan Street in the village of Ashnak, a "Kamaz" brand truck ran over a 13-year-old child, crashed into a stone wall, and ended up overturned on a resident's property.

As photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan reports from the scene, the child died on the spot as a result of the collision. The truck driver was first assisted by rescuers from the Talin fire-rescue squad of the Ministry of Internal Affairs' Rescue Service, who, with great difficulty and using special equipment, extracted the driver. He was then transported to the "Talin" medical center.

Patrol officers from the 1st platoon of the 2nd company of the Aragatsotn regional battalion of the Patrol Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Police arrived at the scene, led by battalion commander Artyom Sahakyan, battalion service inspector Argam Melikyan, company commander Armen Tigranyan, and deputy company commander Arman Sargsyan.

The area was cordoned off by patrol officer Karen Mekhakyan and junior patrol officer Davit Serobyan of the same company.

Information about the incident was transferred from the Aragatsotn regional battalion of the Patrol Service to the Talin investigative division of the Aragatsotn regional investigative department of the Investigative Committee of the RA. An investigative team arrived from there, headed by the head of the department Aghasi Isahakyan, the deputy head of the department Hrach Davtyan, the head of the Talin investigative division Artak Petrosyan, and the investigator on duty.

A criminal proceeding has been initiated in the Talin investigative division regarding the incident, where the identities of the deceased child and the driver are being clarified.
