The Mother See responded to the absurdities voiced from Baku

The Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin responded to the false statements of the Chairman of the Caucasian Muslims Office.

At a meeting of the Council of Qazis held in Baku, Sheikh-ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazade stated that supposedly Armenian holy sites operating in Armenia for dozens of centuries, even the 1700-year-old Mother Cathedral of Holy Etchmiadzin, are located on "historical Azerbaijani lands."

Pashazade concludes the series of absurd claims by presenting the Armenian Apostolic Church as a threat to the countries of the region, the church emphasized. It is ironic that the spiritual leader of a people who received the ethnonym "Azerbaijani" in the 1930s as a result of the nation-building of the Soviet authorities is trying to dispute the historicity of the Armenian people, whose millennia-old spiritual and cultural heritage are universally recognized realities
